Bahd Guy Records’ rapper and actor, Folarin Falana, a.k.a Falz The Bahd Guy, and Nollywood actress, Adesua Etomi, will jointly host the 11th edition of The Headies, Nigeria’s foremost music awards at Eko Hotel and suites.

The pair, chosen for their prowess and rare creativity, embody the theme of this year’s event “create, think, recreate”. Both known for being unusually multi-talented, this year’s hosts combine acting with music, two essential talents for success on the prestigious Headies stage.

Falz and Adesua Etomi, will go on to join past celebrity pairs like D’banj and Tana Adelana in 2007, Basketmouth and Dakore Egbuson in 2008, Banky W and Kemi Adetiba in 2009, Rita Dominic and Eldee in 2011, MI Abaga and Omawumi in 2012, Tiwa Savage and Dr Sid in 2013, and Basket Mouth and Toke Makinwa in 2013, who have had the honour of hosting The Headies since inception.

On the announcement, an elated Adesua Etomi said,


“Having to host Nigeria’s biggest music award show is a big deal in itself. I’m humbled and excited to have been chosen to do this. And I get to host with Falz. How exciting is that?”


Falz also added that,

“Apart from being nominated for 5 awards, which is huge, I will be hosting the show alongside the beautiful Adesua Etomi! I can’t express how I feel at the moment. The show will be so mush hemoshional! I can’t wait!”


Rewarding the excellence and ingenuity in Nigerian music, The Headies 2016 promises to be even bigger and better than ever this year. Speaking on the upcoming show, CEO Smooth Promotions, Ayo Animashaun stated that,


“The Headies every year rewards originality and this year will not be an exception. The last edition was greeted with an overwhelming applaud and the upcoming edition will stand strong on the premise of credibility, trust and reward.”
